The Amarok only score between the wheel arches. Amarok bin width 1620mm. This is very average even narrower than some bakkies. The Amarok measures 1222mm between the arches and that is where it wins.
The first bakkie to be able to carry a Euro pallet definitely not.
Patrol SC bin width 1800mm

After a year or two at the coast, the load bin becomes a lot more spacious after the wheel arches rust away Image

For R170000 you can probably just buy a new one every second year Image

If pallets is your thing, a Hyundai H-100 will probably be the best bet. You can flip the sides down, and load from 3 directions.

... myself ... I’m not a pallet guy ,
but do know of one ,
... if , one day, I meet another,
I will put them in touch.

It’s the right thing to do.

Exactly, as I said above.
With a load bed of over 1600mm wide by over 2700mm long an H100 can carry 4 Euro pallets if packed carefully.
But only two SA 1200 x 1000 pallets...

Today I did my neighbours a favour and took an empty pallet to the recycling centre (the dump).

It was a Euro pallet (because I live near Europe, not in Europe anymore -> #brexit)

I reckon with the seats down in the mighty Touran, I would have easily fitted two pallets.

What an amazing vehicle
