I do however see a remarkable saving in fuel. It went down from 11.4km/l to 12.3km per liter.
I will only properly judge this after a tank or two and not after a few 100 kilometers

Reducing back-pressure of a petrol engine will make it run leaner (hence your better fuel consumption) and make it run hotter. The ECU is obviously not fully compensating for the change in back pressure
