Het jy nie 'n diensplan uitgeneem nie?

I bought a brand new Land Cruiser V8 d4d Last year February.

R690k..

This wonderfull machine has to be serviced every 10k km - For me that means every second month.

The first service cost me R2.2k and I thought that was not too bad..
The second, cost me R10k
The third cost me R6.9k
And the fourth, cost me R13.6k...

I sold the car a week later

Bargain! Nothing can beat that, financially

I've got to say, the Rubicon is not 7 years and 180 000km old. I can't rememebr the last time my primary car was that old. Being told the new JL is coming for years now. It's like Game of Thrones 'Winter is coming" and 5 years later - still no sign of it.

it's also been paid off for a while - the 180 000 service cost me R2000 (I used an Indy this time) . the 168000km service was around R2500 at the agents and the one before also similarly inexpensive, I'd have to look but I think there were pads involved for R4000

Thats not bad for a big vehicle with big tyres and a big lift. the Fiat 500 isn't much cheaper to run. (we don't mention fuel !) Everything still works well , it will need ball joints and a set of shocks if I keep it.

If you buy new, and use the vehicle for work, you can claim for the depreciation of your vehicle by 1/3 a year if I am not mistaken.
If you have a business and the vehicle is an asset of the business, or if you have a car allowance. If you're just a regular salaried pleb, not so much.
The above may contain varying amounts of A+ advice, mocking sarcasm, harmless needling or worthless drivel. Good luck!
