B looks like something from the 80’s.

I am going to guess that it is the Toyota Cresida, but this being a 4x4 Forum I would have to say it’s Oppies3800’s Hilux
My Hilux might have a window short, but it has an engine cover :D
Could this be sarcasm?

My Ranger is the propper Oddessey. It came without all that plastic crap.

They did make use of some cable ties though...

The amarok engine came straight out of a forklift. They just added a turbo and intercooler, and bobs your auntie

Isn't the bonnet the engine cover?

Or do we need to put cushion covers on the cushion covers to protect the cushion covers?

VW forget about the cushion cover. Maybe they were worried about the cushion getting too warm?

I prefer engines not to have covers, then you can see how much care was taken into the design and routing of pipes and wires.

It is the same way I like "naked" bikes, no fairing to hide sloppy design.

Offroad vehicles have some challenges. Like on trails where they are not getting airflow through the grill due to low speeds, yet the engine has to work hard.

Heat sink in the engine bay can be problematic.
Would removing the engine cover help with cooling the engine? Does it make a big difference?

It depends on the design and layout of the cover and the engine and it's ancillaries, Chris. The cover could have been designed to aid airflow over certain crucial areas/parts
